Técnicas de Arte en fotografía - Techniques of Art in photography - Mis libros favoritos - My favorite books

In the first part, shown innovative ways of using traditional photographic methods. Some are carried out with the camera, like the creative approach, others are strictly laboratory, such as multiple copy-ye assembly, and some involve the use of unusual films, such as sensitive to the infrared spectrum. In the second part explores the impressive range of effects that can be achieved using less conventional means, including digital technology. In this book we find ideas to stimulate artistic creativity and images that open the eyes through a series of innovative techniques: distortion and destruction of the image through the physical deterioration and handling chemical and mechanical application of photographic images on combination with other fabrics and visual arts.

The world's most recognized photographer reinterprets the Italian style in seven photographs that portray some of the values that best represent the Italian culture. Lavazza has added an important chapter in the history of his famous calendar to instruct Annie Leibovitz, one of the most recognized and cherished contemporary photographers, the production of its seventeenth edition, under the artistic direction of the advertising agency Armando Testa.
The multifaceted theme chosen by Annie Leibovitz has been fully supported by Lavazza and is totally new to this great photographer: the Italian style.
To translate this concept, Lavazza resorted to a person who has the ability to merge the icons of the past with the present to express what "being Italian" means in the world of art, cinema, fashion, gastronomy, of beauty and sensitivity.
Annie Leibovitz has produced seven photographs for Lavazza (six for the months of the pages, plus cover), or perhaps we should speak of seven images, representations of an unreal journey through a sophisticated country, rooted not only in the imagination of their own citizens but also on the international conscience, to define an attitude and a lifestyle that they have no equal in the world.
Keeping his unshakable focus on the symbol of Italian style, that is, Lavazza espresso, Leibovitz has chosen for his photographs environments referring to big names in the world of art, cinema and even in fashion, using cleverly at the same time artistic influences and unreal atmosphere typical of his penetrating gaze.
The photographs taken by Leibovitz, who joined the extensive collection of art and photographs that constitute the Lavazza calendars, are the work style theater that defy reality, with shades of light reminiscent of Flemish twilight, typical of this artist. They are images that surprise, love or fun. One thing is certain: produce a strong, direct, as it does not leave anyone indifferent.
Take for example the image entitled "Il Cinema", a tribute to the great master of Italian cinema, Federico Fellini. In it, Annie Leibovitz was inspired by the iconic scene that became the Fontana di Trevi in a worldwide symbol. O "Genius," a photograph that depicts a happily symbol of history and Italian culture: Vitruvian Man by Leonardo Da Vinci, reinterpreted in a female version and very sensual, or "Lupa", the emblematic image of Rome, within the Colosseum.
There is also the creative workshop of "La Moda", with trendy and sophisticated detail of a real Lavazza espresso and the backdrop of night with a gorgeous costumes, provided for the occasion by two stars of the international haute couture: Dolce & Gabbana.
Not to be forgotten is the kiss in "The Seduzione" pure seduction and typical Italian charm with the Tiber as the background and a light and perspective directly inspired by Canaletto.
Or one of the most prized dishes of Italian cuisine, spaghetti, where the magic ingredient of a smiling model is mixed with the sensual backdrop of Tuscany.
Finally, on the cover, the image that symbolizes Venice. This is a dramatic reinterpretation of a Venetian mask, one of the best known and popular icons of Italian culture.
In all photographs of the calendar, Annie Leibovitz always reminds us that the real irony is not ever take anything too seriously. The small details between racks that appear here and there suggest that even the most perfect construction remains a representation.
The style of "The Italian Espresso Experience" is unmistakably Lavazza. Sophisticated and elegant as always, but with a romantic touch, is the common thread running through all the images.
When asked about what it meant to produce images of the Lavazza calendar, Annie Leibovitz said: "The timetable Lavazza is a great tradition and a good opportunity to squeeze any photographer's imagination. The idea was to reveal, in some photographs, the process or the development of the calendar. The process has always fascinated me, and, of course, we enjoy a good rest without Lavazza coffee".
Annie Leibovitz and Lavazza counted with five famous top models (all of them Italian, obviously) for your images: Eva Riccobono, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, Alessia Piovan, Gilda Sansone and Kate Ballo. These ambassadors of Italian beauty in the world had the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic talents in a new and different dimension.
Annie Leibovitz is the most famous and well-known photographer of our time. His portraits, such as acute unmistakable, have been home to many magazines for more than thirty years. Leibovitz was born on October 2 1949, in Waterbury, Connecticut. His father was an officer in the Air Force, so her childhood was spent in a succession of military bases. During his studies in painting at the San Francisco Art Institute, also attended evening classes in photography, and in 1970 began working for the magazine Rolling Stone. In 1973 he was appointed chief photographer of Rolling Stone, and when he left the magazine, ten years later, he had given life to one hundred and forty-two covers and had published numerous photographic essays, including his memorable reports on the resignation of Richard Nixon and 1975 tour of the Rolling Stones. In the early eighties, Leibovitz had already erected as the most prominent photographer of rock music and an astute documentarian of the social scene. When, in 1983, joined the staff of the reborn Vanity Fair, began widening his repertoire, and helped to make Vanity Fair magazine, a leading commentator in the world of leisure and business.
In 1993, Leibovitz took the leap to Vogue. He made portraits and covers for the magazine, but also began working on issues of fashion, including the covers of fashion collections. In addition to his work in publishing the magazine, Leibovitz gave birth to influential advertising campaigns, especially for American Express, but also for companies like Gap, Givenchy, The Sopranos and Milk Board. He has collaborated with numerous arts organizations, including the American Ballet Theater, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Mark Morris Dance Group and Mikhail Baryshnikov. Annie Leibovitz has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the Barnard College Medal of Distinction and the Infinity Award in Applied Photography from the International Center of Photography. In 2006 he was awarded the Commandeur in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French state. A year earlier, during the compilation of forty most important magazine covers of the last forty years by the American Society of Magazine Editors, received both the First Prize (a photograph of John Lennon and Yoko Ono for Rolling Stone magazine on the same day that Lennon was murdered) and the Second Award (the photograph of pregnant Demi Moore for Vanity Fair). The Library of Congress named Living Legend. He now lives in New York with their three children: Sarah, Susan and Samuell.

Vidas minadas, diez años - Gervasio Sánchez - Mis libros favoritos - My favorite Books

I have in my hands a book of that shock, which tells stories through pictures master, which makes me the hair-raising, with so much injustice shared by the world, to the suffering of the weak by the enlightened minds of the powerful . Mined lives, ten years, is a compendium of life experiences, the will to live to face the cruel fate that many people would have lived. From the perspective of our society's first world we are desensitized to what is happening in many corners of our Earth. But Gervasio Sánchez brings his good photo to show what should never have pictured, are photographs that never should be carried out, but since these tragedies have happened, that unless disseminated to prevent their repetition.

Landmines are expressly prohibited by International Humanitarian Law (IHL). But the lack of an international agreement on this specific prohibition has served as a pretext for countries to have openly used since the Second World War. In its early days were employed to curb the advance of enemy tanks and armies and to protect certain strategic areas. There were so popular that its use and production is widespread in all kinds of conflicts. They soon found the cruelty of these devices: dropped from the air or planted without control, anti-personnel mines can remain active indefinitely, and when they erupt, they do not distinguish between civilians and combatants, children or humanitarian workers. It is precisely this that makes them incompatible with the IHL, whose mission is to minimize the human suffering, limiting the type and use of weapons in a conflict to avoid unnecessary suffering, to protect civilians, prisoners of war and wounded combatants.

Currently 151 countries have acceded to the Ottawa treaty against landmines, are still 40 countries outside the agreement, and among only five countries including the United States, Russia and China, gather 160 million antipersonnel mines.
